Our History

In 1999, some of our founders started broadcasting television over the Internet. They licensed movies and television networks in hopes of delivering to people exactly what they wanted, when they wanted it. It was a losing proposition. Only a small percentage of people had sufficient bandwidth to receive the programming. The content licensing was expensive. And the worst part, the cost of streaming was priced on a "per Gigabyte delivered" basis, so the bigger the audience got, or the more they watched, the more money was lost.

In 2007, we created Jetcast® in order to eliminate streaming costs and thereby create a viable business model for Internet radio and television broadcasting. In mid-2008, as we were selling our Jetcast® Internet broadcasting solution, many of our customers asked us if we could help them sell their advertising inventory, too. And so ReplaceAds™ was born.

We began selling the in-stream audio inventory for our Jetcast® radio streaming customers. Soon other online radio stations that used other content delivery networks wanted to join the ReplaceAds™ network so that they would have an additional source of revenue. Recently, we have added the audio and video inventory generated by major newspapers and magazine publishers. This newspaper and magazine inventory has the same highly engaged audience characteristics of the rest of our ReplaceAds™ inventory and gives us the benefit of more local audience concentration.

ReplaceAds™ now has one of the largest, all-premium inventories for audio, video and display ads in existence. As of July 2009, comScore ranks ReplaceAds™ as the second largest entity in the "Entertainment-Radio" category. The size of our network allows us to execute campaigns that would be impossible for other publishers or ad networks.

Inventory without management capability is almost worthless, so we have been busy developing scalable video advertising solutions and standards so we can address the broad needs of advertisers and agencies. We are optimized for video, audio and synchronized banners and make all our branded advertisers "smart video advertisers". We truly make the process of buying, executing and optimizing online video, audio and banner campaigns easier and we a devoted to continuing to improve our capabilities.

We already work with dozens of advertising agencies to manage campaigns for their leading brands, thousands of publishers and broadcasters to fill their premium inventory, and serve tens of millions of advertisements everyday. And we are just getting started!
